Auditions are not required to participate in the Chorus; just sign up at the first rehearsal. Soloists, however, are selected by audition. Find out more on the Solos Page.
CONTRIBUTIONS
Contributions are collected from members once per year to help pay for music, the director, and other expenses. Donations of any size are always accepted. However, the following contributions are the standard suggestion:
- Once per year - $20 Adults; $10 Students

SCORES
Chorus members are responsible for obtaining their own vocal scores for Messiah productions only. The preferred score is the Leonard Van Camp edition, published by Roger Dean Publishing Company. Those who already own the Schirmer edition, and who choose not to upgrade, will not be completely lost in rehearsal as the pagination is the same as the Van Camp. However, the Schirmer lacks measure numbers, breath marks and other useful editorial suggestions. Additionally, those using Schirmer will need to write in a few rhythmic and textual corrections. The corrections for each song are listed in detail on documents linked at the bottom of the "scores" page.
For the concert the scores will need to be in a black folder. It doesn't need to be fancy - it just needs to be black!
CONCERT ATTIRE
Men: dark suit (with jacket) and white shirt with a conservative tie. Jewel tones are best.
Women: dress, skirt, or pant suit in jewel tones - either solid color or black bottom and jewel tone top. Please no glittery, shiny, or sequined fabrics.
Please no perfumes or strongly scented deodorants, lotions, hairsprays, etc.
