Auditions will take place on Thursday, October 11th, from 5:00 - 5:50 p.m. before rehearsal in the DMS choir room. If you can't possibly make that time, the following times can be scheduled.  These are in order of preference, so please pick the earliest date/time you can meet and schedule with Sara as soon as possible (email is her 1st choice, in person or some other way is her second choice).
  1. October 11th - after rehearsal, 8:05 p.m.
  2. October 18th - before rehearsal, 5:30 - 5:50 p.m.
  3. October 18th - after rehearsal, 8:05 p.m.
Guidelines:
  • Prepare in its entirety, each song for which you would like to be considered, and plan to sing 16-32 measures of your first choice at the audition. Choose a section that will show off your expertise. The judges might request that you additionally sing a specific section from the same song or a different song on your list.
  • Sara will play for auditions, but you are welcome to bring your own accompanist.
  • Please gather in the choir room to fill out your audition form and wait your turn. Auditionees will be your audience. Enter the room between auditions only.
  • Auditions will be blind, with a panel of judges listening from behind the band room door.
  • Results will be posted on this page within a week of the last audition.
  • Soloist for #9 will need to be ready to rehearse with orchestra on November 1st.  All other soloists will rehearse with the orchestra on November 15th.
NOTE: Recitative/Aria pairs may be considered as one solo, or they may be split into two solos to involve more singers.
